Dissention of the Spirit
(3-4-07)
The essence draining,
My sanity waning,
I reach to embrace the obsession.
And like everything else,
there it stands,
singing softly,
so softly to me.
"If you need to leave the world you live in"
"with all the pretty flowers in the dust."
"Show me the shadow where true meaning lies,"
"We'll be half way to anywhere."
There was once a silent little girl,
a figment of an artist's imagination.
And in her hell she barely lived,
and she laid alone in the darkness.
"Long lost words whisper slowly to me."
"This parasite inside me, I forced it out, in the darkness of the storm."
"Don't close your eyes, God knows what lies behind them,"
"Abide in me and I vow to you, I will never forsake you."
Voices whisper inside my head,
nightmares cloud my screaming mind.
Time inches forward and the final chime sounds,
as it strikes the fated hour of demise.
"I run to you."
"I won't close my eyes unto life."
"You belong to me"
"I'll be anything for you."
Someone has penned the quoted lines,
penned them with blood, fear and tears.
And maybe they too have stared into the distance,
and whispered these last four lines.
"And maybe tonight..."
"And by the morning's light..."
"Somehow I'll show you..."
"I'm gonna let it go"
Cala Haunted dear,
A darkness covers the landscape
Of this writing you have penned
A song is pulsating
Pushing forth from beyond the veil of these words
A deep haunting melody echoing
For those who have ears to ear
